M5 Servers

  • Much of what we do at M5 Systems is build and maintain Servers and Desktop PC's. In the past we sold proprietary systems from HP and Compaq but found maintaining those systems require keeping many different parts in inventory. Our Server and PC components are what is considered in the industry at "White Box". What this means is that we use non-proprietary parts and assemble systems which are easy to work on and most importantly the components are available locally.

All of the components we use for our Servers and Desktops are Intel based. Server boards and desktop boards are all Intel based. In building our more high-end servers we will also utilize products from Supermicro. They have been around for a very long time and have an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. More on Supermicro can be found here http://www.supermicro.com.

Supermicro has been in business since 1993 and is a multi-billion dollar company. They have systems for all different types of companies from small large including pedestal, blade and rackmount solutions. We have deployed many of their systems with great success and above average reliability. Their total cost of ownership is reduced over time utilizing their green technology.

Inside our Servers and Desktops we also use high quality memory from Kingston and disk drives from Western Digital. All of our systems come with a 2 year on-site warranty and some of the components have lifetime warranty (memory) or 3-5 year warranties (disk drives).
