The Astaro Security Gateway software appliance is available on CD with a printed manual or can be downloaded directly from Astaro servers and independently burned onto a CD. It comes as self-booting software package that can be easily installed on a dedicated Intel-compatible computer (gateway) within minutes. Astaro Security Gateway software appliances offer an identical feature set as the pre-installed hardware appliances, however with the additional freedom to change or upgrade the underlying hardware platform at will. They also offer complete flexibility for installation on various virtualization platforms.
